High drama in N'awlins. The character of Blanche DuBois has to be Williams's most masterful creation. I ran across the full-cast recording of this play at the library. I knew I had the book at home waiting to be read, so I brought home the audio program and read along in my book while listening to the performance. The combination greatly enhanced my appreciation of the drama. Rosemary Harris's performance as Blanche DuBois really brings to life Blanche's growing madness as her behavior becomes increasingly hysterical. I cried at the end, to my great surprise.
