Stumbled across this while browsing the talking books at my library. I'm so glad I did! This is a superb program put together by the BBC which chronicles the history of Britain in the 20th century using recordings of recollections from people who lived through the events. So fascinating and educational and at times very touching. This is so much more interesting than just reading about history! This particular one has people who were on the Titanic when it went down, people who fought in WWI and the 1916 Irish Uprising, suffragettes, and a great variety of other people, both well-known and unknown. Apparently there are ten such programs, one for each decade of the century, four CDs per program. I've got the 1900-1910 waiting for me at the library. I'm really looking forward to going through the six that my library has. (Wish they had all ten!)
